## Well, I’m wondering how to install Houdini Master on Windows (XAMPP)

(Warnings In the Houdini-master Folder I Saw A Notepad But I Didn’t Understand This [Houdini can be run as a normal Python program under any operating system.])

# wand

Wand makes it easy to configure dash, houdini and a media server.

## Basic setup

**Step 1** Install git, docker & docker-compose

$ sudo apt update $ sudo apt install [docker.io](http://docker.io) git curl $ sudo curl -L “[https://github.com/docker/compose/releases/download/1.25.5/docker-compose-$](https://github.com/docker/compose/releases/download/1.25.5/docker-compose-%24)(uname -s)-$(uname -m)” -o /usr/local/bin/docker-compose $ sudo chmod +x /usr/local/bin/docker-compose

**Step 2** Clone the repository & submodules

$ git clone --recurse-submodules [https://github.com/solero/wand](https://github.com/solero/wand) && cd wand

**Step 3** Edit the config file

$ nano .env

**Step 4** Start the services

$ sudo docker-compose up

**Step 5** You’re done!

That guide is for Linux.

Quote from #getting-started in the Discord:

> Windows Setup
> Windows is not officially supported. But it is possible to setup Houdini on windows. The community has resources for those looking to install a CPPS on windows. A windows variant of Wand is being worked on. **Guide** : [Tutorial for Houdini-Asyncio and Dash](https://solero.me/t/tutorial-for-houdini-asyncio-and-dash/320)
